We are currently looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer to support one of our client in Tokyo, Japan. In this role, you will be responsible for security operations, incident response, detection engineering, and cybersecurity platform administration. You will also act as the primary technical point of contact for our client, providing both technical support and expertise while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities:

Security Operations & Incident Response:

Monitor and triage security alerts, investigate suspicious activities, and support incident response, containment, and remediation efforts.
Validate security events using threat intelligence sources and contribute to incident response process improvements.

Security Monitoring & Detection Engineering:

Configure and maintain security platforms such as SIEM, SOAR, and EDR.
Develop and optimize detection rules, alerts, dashboards, reports, and automation workflows to enhance monitoring effectiveness.

Security Tool Administration:

Support the deployment, integration, and administration of cybersecurity solutions across cloud and on-premises environments.
Manage log source onboarding, tool configurations, and platform performance to meet customer requirements.

Client-Facing Responsibilities:

Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers in Japan, ensuring timely communication, issue resolution, and customer satisfaction.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance service efficiency by providing technical expertise and high-level support to customers.

Technical environment:

Systems: Windows, Linux, MacOS
Tools: Palo Alto XSOAR, Google Secops (SOAR, SIEM, GTI), Tenable/Nessus, Crowdstrike (EDR, FDR, ITP), Wiz, Splunk, SentinelOne, etc

The ideal candidate has:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Minimum 4+ years of experience in Cybersecurity Engineering, Security Operations, Detection Engineering, or a related field.
Strong understanding of network and system technologies.
Japanese: Business to Native proficiency (JLPT N1 or equivalent preferred).
English: Business proficiency.
Strong knowledge of cybersecurity methodologies, technologies, and best practices.
Experience with security monitoring, incident response, and security operations processes.
Working knowledge of security vulnerabilities, threat actors, and emerging cybersecurity trends.
Good understanding of security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST CSF) and familiarity with Japanese regulatory and compliance requirements, including APPI.
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, Security+, GSEC, CEH, AWS Security Specialty, or equivalent are a plus.
